Vegas Women's Fest 2020
Dear Vegas Women’s Fest Community:
As Vegas Women’s Fest joins communities around the globe in facing the challenges presented by the unprecedented circumstances involving the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to provide an update on Vegas Women’s Fest annual in-person event.
After months of planning and countless hours of preparation, we were heartbroken to announce the postponement of our March festival just days before our scheduled event date. In the months that have followed, we have monitored the progression of the pandemic closely with hopeful hearts. Unfortunately, as we prepared to host a fall 2020 event, we have witnessed a disheartening upward trajectory of cases in Southern Nevada.
We have considered the public health data and consulted with key community stakeholders. For the safety and health of our community, we will not reschedule an in-person event for 2020. We didn’t come to this decision lightly. We believe that spaces for queer womxn are more important than ever and we can’t wait to share them with you again (when it is safe to do so).
In the mean-time we are working on a collaborative virtual event with a cohort of amazing womxn-serving organizations to bring you queer-lady awesomeness in the age of COVID-19. Be on the look-out for SQ:UAD Fest in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more details!
Wishing you health and happiness during these trying times.
Sincerely,
Cindi Hall Joslyn Hatfield
